Years of Journey
History
The Tell a Story Foundation is a nonprofit organization in Uganda that was birthed in 2018 to connect people through storytelling. Due to the time we spend on our phones, we talk less to each other. We aim to provide humanity with humane stories as an alternative to the digital divide.
In this, we narrate authentic stories from very different people in very different social spaces. When we don’t tell our stories, we lose our connections. We fail to empathize because we cannot make sense of shared problems through conversation.
In our world, everyone matters and so do their stories irrespective of who they are, what they do, and where they come from. We can all make our lives great stories, we have the power.
We combine the power of storytelling and philanthropy to connect, celebrate and empower everyday people to own their narratives and in turn use them to give back to the community.

At the Tell a Story Foundation, we believe that stories connect us, It’s the best way we can understand each other and celebrate our shared humanity. With each passing day, we are reminded to be compassionate towards each other through the stories we tell.
The Tell a Story Foundation reignites you to believe in the power of your story, we say “You matter and so does your story, your story is power, own it, no one can ever take it from you, whatever avenue you get, tell it, it could be the hope someone needs. We can all make a difference with others, wherever you are with whatever you have day by day.
We all have something to give, even if it’s a story, Your story is a gift, we have all come from somewhere, let’s share this gift and together let’s build a more humane world.
